Warehouse & Inventory Specialist
Scope and Purpose of Position:
The Warehouse and Inventory Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day warehouse and inventory operations to ensure accurate tracking, proper handling, and efficient movement of materials within the distribution center. This role focuses on inventory accuracy, shipping and receiving activities, materials organization, and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The position operates within established procedures and systems and contributes to maintaining an organized, safe, and audit-ready warehouse environment.
Essential Functions:
Inventory & Materials Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records for non merchandising items, including warehouse consumables, office supplies, warranty materials, cases, boxes, and related supplies.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits to ensure alignment between physical stock and system records.
- Identify, research, and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies, including shortages, overages, and damaged items.
Shipping, Receiving & Distribution
- Receive, inspect, and unload incoming materials; verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading.
- Distribute incoming mail and merchandise to appropriate associates or departments in a timely manner.
- Pick, pack, label, and stage outbound shipments in accordance with shipping requirements.
- Prepare and ship Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) to manufacturers for repair, replacement, or credit, as required.
Equipment & Warehouse Operations
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, in compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain forklift certification records and support equipment upkeep documentation.
- Ensure proper stock rotation and organization of warehouse locations to support efficiency and safety.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Manage site level hazardous waste activities, including proper storage, documentation, permitting, and coordination of disposal in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support changing business needs.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Scope and Purpose of Position
Provides primary support for inventory administration related activities for production support, facilities and maintenance activities, including ordering of materials and supplies.
Essential Functions
- Inventory Control, which includes maintaining the non-merchandising inventory system, as well as maintaining and distributing products such as lab consumables, office supplies, warranty cards, cases, boxes, etc.
- Receives all incoming mail and merchandise ensuring that it is routed to the proper associate or destination and prepares and ships RMA’s to manufacturer for repair, replacement or credit, as indicated.
- Manages Hazardous Waste activities for the site including proper storage, permits, disposal and documentation.
- Maintains active role on the safety committee and conducts safety training to lab associates.
- Maintain and operate forklift; maintain records and upkeep for forklift certifications.
- Ensures warehouse is neat and orderly at all times.
- As required by changing business needs, complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Practice and comply with all requirements of our Quality Management System (QMS), prescribed safety and hazardous materials handling procedures, and Federal/State laws regulating hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- ABO Certification preferred.
- Experience working in a fast paced environment with a record of continuously increased responsibility.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Must be able to provide proof of a valid driver’s license, as well as valid license to operate a fork lift.
- Ability to perform these operations using standard units of; measurement, distance, weight, volume and monetary.
- Ability to read and comprehend English instructions, correspondence, and/or memos is required, as is the capacity to write similar correspondence relaying opportunities or findings.
- Skill to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings is necessary.
- Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
