Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends as necessary as customer demands could cause staff to work outside normal business operating hours.


POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Distribution Center Lead the primary duty will be to perform all daily activity of warehousing tasks. The Warehouse Lead demonstrates a high degree of leadership and advanced competency of warehouse and customer account knowledge. In addition to performing warehouse level activity, the Lead at times will be responsible for training staff, leading special projects and covering shifts when the Supervisor is absent.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Complete warehouse tasks utilizing RF Scanners, forklifts (sit down and standup) pallet jacks, stretch wrappers etc.
  • Unload, inspect, receive, store, pick and ship customer products according to company policy and procedures
  • Planning, processing & prioritizing daily orders to ensure customer satisfaction- This is a hands-on job that will require you to multitask multiple priorities throughout the day
  • Become the subject matter expert SME in all facets of the DC operations (receiving, picking, replenishment, shipping, and carrier selection)
  • Support DC Management on non-order related work (facilities management, safety, security, equipment maintenance, Inventory control, etc.…)
  • Must be able to coach, train, provide feedback, and if necessary, hold team members accountable
  • Open/ Close facility as needed
  • Leads special projects assigned by management
  • Provide supervisory coverage when the Supervisor is absent
  • Follows and promotes all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned

Inventory:

  • In conjunction with supervision, conduct customer inventory audits and cycle counts
  • Understands warehouse inventory storage concepts
  • Store product in a manner that meets product storage comingling requirements
  • Always account for inventory moves in the WMS
  • Report any changes, damages or deterioration in stored product

Equipment:

  • Certified to train staff on warehouse equipment
  • Maintain the equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently that complies with OSHA and company standards of operation

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in a warehouse setting. Warehouse temperatures can vary according to the season.


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Advanced knowledge on forklift and warehouse equipment operations
  • Advanced knowledge of Company’s customers accounts
  • Thorough knowledge of Company policies and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of Company safety and security regulations
  • Demonstrates high competency of warehousing knowledge
  • Proven leadership among staff
  • Self-driven and positive character
  • Advanced knowledge of customer accounts and handling requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
