Warehouse Manager -

The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC.

The Warehouse Manager oversees the daily operation of the University’s warehouse in support of Facilities Management and Residential Living, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control, and distribution of housekeeping, maintenance, and construction supplies, tools, and equipment. This position manages a formal inventory control system, prepares inventory replenishment estimates for state contract purchases, verifies incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, and ensures timely fulfillment of departmental requisitions. The role also supervises warehouse staff and operations, maintains appropriate stock levels and rotation, and manages surplus or damaged property in accordance with state requirements. Work is performed with considerable independence and is evaluated based on operational efficiency, accuracy of inventory records, and the effective stewardship of facilities and materials.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Valid Driver’s License required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
  • Considerable knowledge of warehouse management principles and practices, including inventory control, materials handling, stock rotation, and the maintenance of accurate perpetual and physical inventory records.
  • Ability to analyze usage patterns and estimate supply, material, and equipment needs to maintain appropriate inventory levels, including items procured through state contracts.
  • Ability to interpret and apply purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documentation to verify accuracy, quality, and compliance with state purchasing requirements.
  • Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse personnel and to coordinate daily warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, storage, and surplus property disposal in accordance with state regulations.
  • Data entry and computer skills are required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency and two years of supervisory experience in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
