Job Description: Store In charge OPERATIONS

Position Title: Store In charge Operations

Department: Inventory/Stores Management
Reports To: Operations Manager/Inventory Head

Job Summary:
The Store In charge is responsible for the efficient management of inventory, ensuring accurate item creation, timely processing of Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) and Material Receipt Notes (MRN), and maintaining accurate stock levels. This role requires expertise in Bill of Materials (BOM) management, material inward and outward processes, stock transfer, Team Management ,admin role adherence to Kaizen principles to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities1. Item Creation and Maintenance:

  • Create and manage item master data, ensuring accuracy in naming conventions, codes, and classifications.
  • Update and maintain inventory details in the ERP system.

2. Goods Receipt Note (GRN) and Material Receipt Note (MRN):

  • Verify and document the receipt of goods against purchase orders and supplier delivery notes.
  • Generate GRN and MRN for all incoming materials and ensure proper filing.
  • Coordinate quality checks for received goods and escalate discrepancies or damages.

3. Bill of Materials (BOM) Management:

  • Develop and update BOMs in coordination with the production and procurement teams.
  • Ensure materials align with manufacturing requirements and maintain accuracy in the system.

4. Material Inward and Outward:

  • Supervise material inward processes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company standards.
  • Oversee material dispatches, ensuring accurate documentation and timely deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions.

5. Stock Transfer and Put Away:

  • Manage inter-warehouse stock transfers with proper documentation and tracking.
  • Implement effective put-away strategies for optimal storage and retrieval.
  • Regularly audit stock locations to ensure accuracy.

6. Kaizen Implementation:

  • Identify and execute Kaizen initiatives to improve storage, handling, and inventory management processes.
  • Optimize workflows to reduce waste, improve space utilization, and enhance overall efficiency.

7. Inventory Control and Reporting:

  • Conduct regular stock checks to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Prepare and present inventory reports, highlighting discrepancies or critical stock levels.
  • Ensure adherence to FIFO/LIFO principles as applicable.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role with knowledge of inventory systems and ERP software.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management systems, ERP software, and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge:
  • GRN and MRN processes.
  • BOM creation and maintenance.
  • Stock transfer procedures and material handling best practices.
  • Kaizen principles and lean management techniques.
