Warehouse Supervisor – (Fruits & Vegetables)
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor -(Fruits & Vegetables) is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations within a fruit and vegetable distribution environment. This role ensures proper handling, storage, inventory control, and dispatch of perishable goods while maintaining quality standards, food safety compliance, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing fresh produce inventory and understands cold chain management, quality control, and fast-paced distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, sorting, grading, storing, and dispatching fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expire, First-Out) inventory practices.
- Monitor temperature-controlled storage areas to maintain product freshness.
- Coordinate loading and unloading schedules to meet delivery timelines.
- Optimize warehouse layout for efficiency and product flow.
2. Quality Control & Food Safety
- Inspect incoming and outgoing produce for quality, damage, and compliance with standards.
- Maintain proper cold chain management at all times.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, local food safety regulations).
- Manage waste control and shrinkage reduction strategies.
3. Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and ensure accurate inventory records.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Track product shelf life and minimize spoilage.
- Generate daily/weekly inventory and performance reports.
4. Team Supervision
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff and forklift operators.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor performance.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and company policies.
- Foster teamwork and maintain discipline within the warehouse.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce workplace health and safety regulations.
- Ensure proper handling of perishable and fragile goods.
- Maintain clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Conduct safety briefings and toolbox meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of warehouse experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Direct experience handling fresh fruits and vegetables is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of cold storage operations and produce quality standards.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in cold storage environments and flexible shifts.
