Water Pump Overhauling & Servicing Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of different types of water pumps (centrifugal, submersible, booster, multistage, sewage pumps, etc.).
• Carry out complete overhauling of pump units, including dismantling, cleaning, inspection, repair/replacement of worn parts, and reassembly.
• Inspect pump components such as impellers, bearings, seals, shafts, casings, motors, and couplings.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults and implement corrective measures.
• Perform alignment of motors and pumps using dial indicators or laser alignment tools.
• Test pump performance after servicing (pressure, flow rate, vibration, noise checks).
• Install and commission new pumps and ensure proper system integration.
• Maintain service records, documentation, and reports of work performed.
• Follow safety standards and ensure compliance with company and industry guidelines.
• Provide on-site support and emergency troubleshooting when required.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians for efficient workflow.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair skills.
• Knowledge of pump systems, fluid mechanics, and hydraulic principles.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and pump manuals.
• Proficiency with tools used for pump maintenance (bearing pullers, torque wrenches, alignment tools, multimeters, etc.).
• Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Repair, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in water pump servicing or similar mechanical maintenance roles.
• Familiarity with industrial safety practices.
• Experience with electrical motors is an advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
