Orange County Utilities provides water resources and solid waste recovery services to protect and enrich the lives of the citizens and guests of Orange County Florida. The Water Division ensures a safe and reliable water supply for all of Orange County Utilities¿ customers. The Water Division operates three regional water supply facilities and nine satellite water supply facilities that collectively produce approximately 60 million gallons per day.
The Water Division is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of "Water Treatment Operator Program Instructor".
General Functions:
This position provides both technical instruction and licensed operational support for the Utilities Department¿s workforce development initiatives. This role serves as a licensed water/wastewater professional responsible for delivering the H2O Pipeline Dual-Enrollment Program in partnership with Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) while maintaining operational proficiency by participating in treatment plant operations, process control, and compliance activities during non-instructional periods
Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision of Program Manager. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor¿s degree from an accredited institution and six (6) years of experience as a licensed Class B or higher Water or Wastewater Operator. In lieu of the degree requirements, additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Possess and maintain a Florida DEP Class A or B Water or Wastewater Operator License. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
Must have the ability to pass OCPS Level II background screening.
Preferences
Teaching or training experience with high school or adult learners.
Experience supervising technical staff or apprentices.
Familiarity with SCADA, LMS, Maximo, Canvas, Skyward, and Microsoft Office applications.
