Role:

Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, security, and daily support of the GCCC website to ensure a user-friendly, accessible, and visually consistent experience. Collaborating with the Marketing and IT teams and other stakeholders to conceptualize and execute a website redesign, providing ongoing updates and maintenance, and ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and accessibility standards.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team and other stakeholders to conceptualize and execute the redesign of our college website.
  • Implement design changes, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
  • Handle daily work order requests to update, maintain, and manage the college website(s).
  • Monitor website performance, analyze metrics, and implement optimizations to enhance user experience and engagement.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with IT support as needed to ensure website functionality and security.
  • Maintain a high standard of design excellence while adhering to project timelines and requirements.
  • Conduct user testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve the website's usability and functionality.
  • Assist with graphic design projects as needed.
  • Assist with photography and videography projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Performance Measurements:

  • To stay abreast of industry standards and technology.
  • To maintain a general knowledge of applicable copyright laws and regulations.
  • Create and maintain an effective relationship with GCCC Students, Faculty, and Staff in order to provide quality service and support for everyone.
  • To work with end-users when problem situations arise and complete all jobs in a timely manner.
  • To assist the interaction between end users and Second Level Support team.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Six months to two years of experience with content management systems (CMS) is preferred. Experience with photography and /or videography is a plus.

Education: Associate degree (or specialized training/experience) in Web Design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related field.

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), as well as web design tools. Strong understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX) design, accessibility standards (WCAG2.1),and responsive web design techniques. Preferred experience with web design and analytics tools, such as Formstack and Google Analytics. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is required. Knowledge of PHP preferred. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements: The position generally requires light work with occasional lifting of 30 pounds or more, carrying equipment, varying amounts of sitting, climbing, kneeling, standing and walking. Distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus is necessary.

Work Environment: Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
