Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a modern, accessible CMS (WordPress or Drupal)
- Collaborate with design, accessibility, and content teams to implement responsive layouts.
- Migrate existing content, preserving metadata, SEO structure, and internal linking.
- Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, and other accessibility standards.
- Integrate analytics, forms, and third-party systems (Google Analytics 4).
- Conduct user testing, load testing, and documentation before launch.
- Provide technical support post-launch during the stabilization phase.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional web development experience.
- Proven experience with WordPress or Drupal 9/10 in enterprise/higher-ed environments.
- Strong front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and responsive frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind, etc.).
- Experience with accessibility validation tools (Axe, Siteimprove, Lighthouse).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with government or university RFP-driven projects.
- Knowledge of AWS hosting, CI/CD pipelines, and NIST 800-53 compliance.
- Experience contributing to open-source CMS plugins/themes.
