Web Developer

Commitment: ~30–40 hours/week

Start Date: Upon award (expected December 2025)

Contract Term: Initial 6–12 months with renewal potential

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a modern, accessible CMS (WordPress or Drupal)
• Collaborate with design, accessibility, and content teams to implement responsive layouts.
• Migrate existing content, preserving metadata, SEO structure, and internal linking.
• Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, and other accessibility standards.
• Integrate analytics, forms, and third-party systems (Google Analytics 4).
• Conduct user testing, load testing, and documentation before launch.
• Provide technical support post-launch during the stabilization phase.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional web development experience.
• Proven experience with WordPress or Drupal 9/10 in enterprise/higher-ed environments.
• Strong front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and responsive frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind, etc.).
• Experience with accessibility validation tools (Axe, Siteimprove, Lighthouse).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with government or university RFP-driven projects.
• Knowledge of AWS hosting, CI/CD pipelines, and NIST 800-53 compliance.
• Experience contributing to open-source CMS plugins/themes.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
