Web Developer

Position Summary:

The Web Developer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and enhancing Centurions Michigan’s website to ensure it is secure, user-friendly, visually engaging, and mission-driven. This role ensures that the website serves as an effective platform for community education, volunteer engagement, event promotion, and resource sharing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and update the Centurions Michigan website to reflect current programs, events, and organizational priorities.
• Implement website features that improve user experience, accessibility, and engagement.
• Ensure website security, performance, and compliance with privacy standards.
• Collaborate with communications and program teams to integrate social media, donation platforms, newsletters, and volunteer sign-up forms.
• Optimize the website for search engines (SEO) and mobile responsiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve website issues in a timely manner.
• Regularly back up website data and monitor for vulnerabilities or errors.
• Recommend and implement new tools, plugins, or technologies to improve functionality.
• Support content uploads, including graphics, blog posts, educational materials, and event information.
• Ensure the website reflects Centurions Michigan’s branding and messaging guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Experience with website development and maintenance (WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or similar platforms).
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript; PHP or other backend languages are a plus.
• Familiarity with website security practices, SEO, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with non-technical team members.
• Commitment to Centurions Michigan’s mission to combat human trafficking.

Background checks and relevant clearances are required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $1.00 per year

Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
