Webmaster

Pay Grade(s): 12-13 ($78,526.50+ DOE)
Purpose: The Webmaster (Online Sales Focus) is responsible for maintaining, updating, and optimizing TlingitandHaida.gov and multiple Tlingit & Haida Enterprise websites to support online sales, brand awareness, and public engagement.
This position ensures that the Tribe’s primary website and business sites are user-friendly, accessible, secure, and aligned with Tlingit & Haida’s mission, values, and design standards. The Webmaster plays a key role in driving online sales, enhancing the customer experience, and strengthening the Tribe’s digital presence across enterprises such as Sacred Grounds, Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall, One Stop Auto Shop, Aan Hit, and others.
Essential Functions. An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Website Management & Maintenance
- Manage and maintain TlingitandHaida.gov and all enterprise websites.
- Ensure all sites are secure, mobile-friendly, ADA compliant, and performing at optimal speed and reliability.
- Collaborate for website design, navigation, and content updates to ensure a consistent look and feel across platforms.
- Implement SEO best practices and monitor analytics to increase visibility, engagement, and conversion rates.
- E-Commerce & Online Sales
- Manage online product catalogs, pricing, and inventory integration across enterprise websites.
- Monitor and analyze online sales performance, identifying opportunities for growth and improved user experience.
- Collaborate with enterprise managers to launch seasonal promotions, gift cards, and digital sales campaigns.
- Coordinate with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate order processing, fulfillment, and reporting.
- Digital Marketing & Communications Support
- Partner with the Communications & Marketing team to ensure consistency of messaging and branding across all sites.
- Create and update landing pages for events, campaigns, and announcements.
- Utilize analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.) to track and report on web traffic and digital ROI.
- Technical Oversight & Vendor Coordination
- Manage hosting, domains, SSL certificates, and web platform subscriptions for all sites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; coordinate with external developers or vendors as needed.
- Ensure all sites adhere to accessibility standards and data security requirements.
- Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with Communications, Enterprise, and IT departments on cross-functional digital projects.
- Provide regular reports on site analytics, e-commerce performance, and technical updates.
- Research and recommend tools or integrations to improve site functionality and user experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities. A comprehensive set of capabilities required to perform job tasks effectively:

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills):
- Associate degree in web design, digital marketing, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum three (3) years of experience managing government, corporate, or e-commerce websites.
- Demonstrated experience with WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, or similar platforms.
- Proven ability to manage secure, high-traffic websites and online sales platforms.
Preferred Qualifications (education, experience, skills):
- Bachelor’s degree in web design, digital marketing, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
