Job Summary
A Wedding Designer is responsible for creating and executing the overall visual concept and aesthetic of a wedding. This role focuses on transforming a couple’s vision into a cohesive design through décor, color palettes, floral arrangements, lighting, layouts, and styling details. A Wedding Designer concentrates primarily on the creative and visual elements of the event.
Key Responsibilities
1. Concept Development & Design
- Meet with clients to understand their vision, style preferences, and theme.
- Develop mood boards, design proposals, and visual presentations.
- Create cohesive design concepts including color schemes, décor elements, and styling details.
2. Venue Styling & Layout
- Design floor plans and seating arrangements.
- Plan ceremony and reception layouts.
- Select décor elements such as linens, furniture, backdrops, signage, and props.
3. Floral & Décor Coordination
- Collaborate with florists, rental companies, and décor vendors.
- Select floral designs, centerpieces, and installations.
- Oversee décor production and setup.
4. Lighting & Ambiance
- Work with lighting specialists to enhance mood and atmosphere.
- Recommend lighting, draping, and special effects to complement the design.
5. Vendor Collaboration
- Coordinate with planners, photographers, and production teams to ensure design consistency.
- Review vendor proposals to align with the overall aesthetic.
6. Installation & Event Styling
- Supervise on-site setup and styling.
- Ensure all design elements are placed correctly and meet quality standards.
- Make real-time adjustments as needed.

Education & Experience
- Degree or certification in Event Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Visual Arts, or related field (preferred)
- Experience in wedding or event design
- Portfolio showcasing previous design work
Working Conditions
- Project-based work with flexible but often extended hours
- On-site event setup requiring physical activity
- Work may include evenings and weekends
