We are seeking a dedicated and energetic dog care provider for our family dog in Menlo Park. This weekend-focused role is perfect for someone who loves dogs, enjoys physical activity, and understands the importance of respecting a dog's unique personality and needs.

Primary Responsibilities
Take the 75-pound dog, on two substantial walks per day (2-3 miles each) in parks (no dog parks)
Be physically capable of handling a strong dog, especially if she sees squirrels
Be willing to jog, sprint, or speed walk based on the dog's energy levels
Understand dog behavior and respect that the dog may be touch-sensitive
Allow the dog to interact with other dogs but minimize human interactions during walks
Be aware that other dogs may be reactive to the dog's appearance
Provide attentive care and companionship throughout the day
Monitor the dog during rest periods and engage in play/short walks around the yard between main outings
Handle feeding and use food as motivation for activity when appropriate
Understand that the dog is a family member, not just a pet
Be patient and willing to learn the dog’s specific needs and personality
Communicate any concerns or observations about the dog's behavior or health
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience with Large Dog Breeds like German Shepherd and Husky preferred (vet tech background not necessary)
Physically active and capable of walking 10,000+ steps daily
Strong enough to manage a 75-pound dog who may occasionally pull on the leash
Understanding of dog behavior and body language
Patient and adaptable to a dog's changing energy levels and needs
Enjoys working with both animals and people
Genuine love for dogs and enjoyment of extended time outdoors
Reliable and trustworthy
Local to the Bay Area
Unwavering commitment to confidentiality (high-profile client)
Previous experience working with high-profile families is preferred
Must pass a background check
Provide proof of immunizations (Covid Vaccination, negative TB test, and recent Flu Vaccine)
