Job Description:
Job Summary:
The welder position will have expertise in MIG Welding techniques, by focusing on the assembly of components, parts, and structures as specified by prints, layouts and/or jigs and fixtures.
Hourly Rate: $25.76
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.

Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces.

MIG Welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines.

Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame. Holds & guides torch at proper angle to cut metal.

Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.

Scarfs or grooves welds and parts.

Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter.

Completes tasks while adhering to production schedules

Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards

Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

MIG Welding experience is required

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading preferred

Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred

Ability to pass all EHS requirements
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 lbs.

Position has frequent exposure to heat, noise, vibration, smoke, dust, fumes, dirt, grease and oil.

Employees may be occasionally in a cramped or confined space depending on the welding line.
