Job Purpose:
To perform high-quality welding on stainless steel (SS) and carbon steel (CS) materials in the 6G position, ensuring strong, accurate, and defect-free welds that meet international codes, project specifications, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out welding in the 6G position on stainless steel and carbon steel pipes and structures.
- Interpret and follow welding procedures, drawings, and isometric diagrams.
- Prepare materials, tools, and equipment prior to welding activities.
- Conduct weld joint preparation, alignment, and fitting to ensure precision.
- Perform welding using SMAW, GTAW, or other applicable processes.
- Carry out visual inspections and ensure weld quality meets standards (ASME, AWS, or equivalent).
- Adhere to HSE regulations, wearing proper PPE and following safe welding practices.
- Report defects, repair requirements, or deviations to supervisors/inspectors.
- Maintain welding equipment in good working condition.
- Cooperate with QC inspectors during NDT, hydrotesting, and final acceptance stages.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certified 6G Welder (SS & CS).
- Proven experience in oil & gas, power plants, or heavy industrial projects.
- Skilled in SMAW, GTAW (TIG), and other welding processes.
- Knowledge of WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and PQRs.
- Ability to pass radiographic and ultrasonic tests.
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work in confined spaces/high elevations.
