Welder / Fabricator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join our team in Statesville, NC. This role is responsible for performing MIG and TIG welding, material fabrication, and operating various shop equipment to support production. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in working from prints to produce high-quality parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding including setting voltage/amperage, selecting proper wire and gas, and producing quality welds
• Perform TIG welding including setting temperature and gas flow, selecting appropriate tungsten/wire, and completing clean, aesthetic welds across various gauges
• Read and interpret blueprints and use a tape measure accurately
• Operate fabrication equipment including iron worker, shear, plasma cutter, saws, and drill/tap machines
• Set up and operate plasma cutting equipment with proper angles and speeds
• Use jigs and fixtures to support fabrication processes
• Perform material identification, measurement, and layout
• Load and unload parts in mill and lathe operations and perform basic quality checks using micrometers and calipers
• Adjust and calibrate equipment as needed (e.g., shear backstops, tooling, dies)
• Follow all safety, quality, and standard work instructions

Qualifications

• Experience with MIG welding required; TIG welding experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Experience operating fabrication equipment (iron worker, plasma cutter, saws, etc.)
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience welding carbon and stainless steel
• Crane and/or forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
• Experience with mill and lathe operations

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing/shop environment
• Requires standing, lifting, and operating machinery throughout the shift

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
