Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welder specializing in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding to join our dynamic fabrication team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects across construction, manufacturing, and custom fabrication environments. As a key contributor, you will utilize your expertise in MIG welding and related skills to produce high-quality, durable metal components. Your hands-on mechanical knowledge and attention to detail will ensure that all welds meet strict safety and quality standards, supporting our commitment to excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on various materials including sheet metal, ductwork, and structural components following detailed blueprints and schematics.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure precise fabrication and assembly.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to verify dimensions and quality of welds.
  • Follow safety protocols including rigging procedures, crane operations, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, equipment, and materials efficiently on-site or in the workshop.
  • Collaborate with team members on complex assembly tasks involving mechanical knowledge, machining, soldering, or plasma cutting as needed.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with MIG welding techniques across various metals and thicknesses.
  • Strong construction site experience with the ability to adapt welding practices to different environments.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) is a plus for specialized projects.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, ASME codes & standards, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Familiarity with using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and schematics for precise fabrication work.
  • Knowledge of rigging procedures including crane operation for lifting heavy components safely.
  • Mechanical aptitude with understanding of pipe threading, machining processes, soldering techniques, and assembly procedures.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication specifications.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment when necessary for project logistics.
