WELDER / FABRICATOR

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a background in welding and fabrication to join our fabrication team. The role will focus on the fabrication and welding of commercial vehicle bodywork such as salt spreaders (gritters) & tipper bodies as well as other key components and parts. This is a permanent, full-time post. The successful candidate will work within our workshop and yard facility in Biggar, South Lanarkshire.

Candidate Requirements:

• A time served Welder / Fabricator ideally with 2+ years experience.
• Skilled in MIG and aluminium welding.
• Experience with MMA and TIG welding would be advantageous but not essential.
• Previous experience in commercial vehicle body building (subframe and chassis trial fit) would be advantageous but not essential.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, accurately marking out jobs, carrying out dimensional checks and also drilling with reference to engineering drawings.
• Experienced in the use of guillotines and metal folders.
• Knowledge of plasma cutting processes and commercial vehicle hydraulic systems would be advantageous.
• Flexible and prepared to work under own initiative as well as being able to work as part of a team.
• Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude.
• Awareness and knowledge of Health & Safety and its impact in a workshop environment.
