The Role

As a Welder you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal structures and components using various welding techniques. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Duties Include:

· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications for welding projects.

· Perform welding tasks mainly using MIG welding, based on project requirements.

· Fabricate and assemble metal components and structures, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

· Inspect finished welds for structural integrity, quality, and compliance with specifications, making necessary adjustments as needed.

· Maintain and operate welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly calibrated.

· Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Collaborate with other team members, including fabricators and engineers, to complete projects efficiently and effectively.

· Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered during the welding process.

· Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and stay current with industry best practices.

· Perform visual inspections of welds and joints to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

· Keep the work area organized and clean to promote safety and efficiency.

Key Skills

· Proven experience as a Welder fabricator in a manufacturing or construction environment.

· Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and safety practices.

· Strong analytical skills to interpret technical documents, including blueprints, schematics and technical drawings accurately

· Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and report on project progress.

· Ability to effectively use welding equipment and hand tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £29,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
