Welder/Fitter

A welder's job description involves fusing metal parts using heat and welding equipment, following blueprints and specifications, and performing quality control on their work. Key responsibilities include preparing metal surfaces, selecting appropriate welding methods, operating various welding and cutting machines, and adhering to strict safety standards to create strong, precise, and durable metal assemblies in diverse industries like manufacturing and construction. Core Responsibilities

• Interpreting plans: Reading and understanding technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Material preparation: Setting up metal components, removing impurities, and preparing surfaces for welding.
• Welding and fabrication: Fusing metal parts using various welding techniques, such as MIG and TIG welding, and shaping metal with cutting torches.
• Equipment operation: Using and maintaining welding machines, power supplies, hand tools, and other specialized equipment.
• Quality assurance: Inspecting completed welds to ensure strength, precision, and compliance with quality standards, identifying and fixing flaws.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Welding expertise: Proficiency in various welding processes and the ability to select the right equipment and methods for different metals and projects.
• Technical understanding: Knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements to lay out and fabricate structural forms.
• Safety protocols: A strong understanding and adherence to safety regulations to create a safe working environment.
• Technical accuracy: The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, perform precise measurements, and ensure work is to specification.

Work Environment

• Industrial settings: Welders work in manufacturing plants, construction sites, shipyards, and other industries where metal fabrication is required.
• Physical demands: The job often involves lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and being exposed to hazardous conditions such as noise, dirt, and intense heat.

Pay: ₹24,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
