Welding Department Leader

What you’ll do:

We are looking for a Mechanical Workshop Department Leader to join our team in the Transformer Business Unit.

Responsibilities:


  • Manage the Production Team and Processes of the Mechanical Workshop MWS (welding & painting workshop)
  • Take lead of the EHS topics of his/her department such as training, personal protection equipment PPE and machine guarding
  • Following-up of 5S
  • Manage the Department KPIs, such as: Efficiency, Leakage, Inventory
  • Follow-up Lean activities as well as Kaizen Activities
  • Follow and Support the Master Production Plan
  • Create and follow the time studies of production process
  • Support Quality A3 Studies
  • Manage a production team of 35 people & 1 Team Leader
  • Take care of time and attendance sheets
  • Give full support to the related department for taking alternative suppliers into the system
  • Understand the needs of necessary equipment & tools & machines and give full support the to the related department for taking them into the service
  • Compare the designed and produced values of the transformers
  • Follow-up of new ideas and continuous improvement projects
  • Manage the rewarding system,
  • Input production values into SAP
  • Create Standardized Work Instructions and updating them
  • Coordinate the Rough Cut Capacity Planning RCCP
  • Coordinate the full production of Mechanical Workshop MWS (welding & painting workshop) from the beginning stage to the final stage of dispatch
  • Monitor maintenance of all necessary tools & equipment & machines
  • Take care of Layout studies
  • Get involved in any increase capacity studies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred Mechanical Engineering, or as secondary preference it can be Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Skills:

  • Experience and knowledge in the business of oil type transformer is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in Mechanical Workshop (welding & painting)
  • Technical knowledge of Low and Medium Voltage systems
  • Strong project-management, commercial & negotiations skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Strong organizational, presentation, communication and time management skills, results driven
  • Ability to work within an international, culturally diverse and matrix based organization
  • IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project)
  • Ready and used to working independently as well as within a team
  • Language capability of both Turkish and English at fluent level
