Skilled Fabricator Wanted – Work on Specialist Machinery & Bespoke Equipment

Speedcrete CP Ltd is seeking an experienced Fabricator / Workshop Assistant with strong aluminium fabrication and welding skills to join our established workshop team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a competent, hands-on fabricator who enjoys working on varied engineering projects rather than repetitive production-line work. You will work closely with our Lead Fabricator and Depot Manager, contributing to the manufacture, modification, and preparation of specialist construction machinery used across the UK and internationally.

Founded in 1985, Speedcrete is a leading supplier of specialist construction machinery with depots in Salisbury, Stafford, Glasgow, and King’s Lynn. We design, supply, hire, and support professional construction equipment across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

The Role

This is a varied and practical workshop-based fabrication role involving aluminium and steel welding, machine assembly, and equipment preparation. The position offers consistent variety, working across bespoke fabrication projects, machinery builds, repairs, and rental equipment preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication and welding of aluminium and steel components
• MIG and TIG welding of precision parts and assemblies
• Assisting with manufacture and modification of specialist construction machinery
• Interpreting drawings and working from technical specifications
• Preparing and refurbishing equipment for hire fleet dispatch
• Delivering and collecting equipment when required
• Maintaining workshop safety, quality standards, and housekeeping

Essential Skills & Experience

✔ Proven experience in aluminium fabrication and welding
✔ Strong MIG and TIG welding ability
✔ Experience working within an engineering or fabrication workshop
✔ Ability to work from technical drawings and measurements
✔ Good understanding of fabrication techniques and workshop machinery
✔ Full UK Driving Licence
✔ Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

Desirable (Not Essential)

➕ Experience fabricating machinery or plant equipment
➕ Experience working with hire or construction equipment
➕ Mechanical assembly or fitting experience

Working Hours

42.5 Hours Per Week
Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:30pm
Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
