Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to carry out welding inspections, ensure compliance with project specifications, and support quality control activities for Oil & Gas projects in Qatar. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of welding processes, WPS/PQR requirements, NDT methods, and industry codes such as ASME, API, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of welds including joint preparation, fit‑up, root, and final weld checks.
• Verify welding activities are conducted according to approved WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications.
• Monitor welding parameters, heat input, pre‑heat, interpass temperature, and consumable handling.
• Coordinate with QC, welding supervisors, and construction teams to ensure work is compliant with quality standards.
• Review welding documents, maps, material traceability, and ensure proper documentation throughout the project.
• Witness NDT processes such as RT, UT, MT, PT, and ensure results align with acceptance criteria.
• Identify non‑conformities, raise reports, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, construction drawings, and international welding codes.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain updated quality records.
• Enforce adherence to HSE requirements and safe welding practices at all times.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS‑CWI or equivalent welding inspection certification (mandatory).
• Minimum 5+ years of welding inspection experience in Oil & Gas projects.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section IX, API, AWS standards, and NDT techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret isometrics, P&IDs, and welding-related drawings.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
