Welding/Fabrication Lead

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Welding/Fabrication Lead to join our team and drive excellence in fabrication and welding operations. The Fabrication Lead reports to the Fabrication Supervisor and is responsible for assisting in streamlining the production line by maintaining a consistent progress flow in the line operation of the Fabrication Department. This position is a working lead role. This position may have daily or weekend overtime as the production schedule dictates.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Supervisor in overseeing personnel and production to ensure the final product is manufactured safely, high-quality, and delivered on time to the customer.
  • Drive production goals for the Department and strive to exceed expectations daily
  • Maintain production line housekeeping and conduct continuous housekeeping tasks.
  • Operate all sections/stations of the work center for employee training and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Train new hires and transfers into the Department.
  • Ensure that all personnel wear the correct safety equipment before the start of the shift and maintain safety awareness.
  • Ensure that individuals apply proper techniques that comply with appropriate quality control procedures.
  • Check machinery for proper function and report to Supervisor if necessary.
  • Provide feedback to Supervisor regarding the performance of department employees.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.
  • Raw material take-offs
  • Fabricate or weld if time allows after primary lead role has been met.
  • All other duties as assigned by Fabrication Supervisor and Manufacturing Superintendent.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum 7 years of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure
  • Ability to read and perform mathematical calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions, and decimals generally acquired through high school education or equivalency
  • Ability to pass weld tests: FCAW and GMAW
  • Basic computer familiarity

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
