Your key duties

The Director – KSA Western Region will lead strategic growth and client engagement initiatives across Makkah and Jeddah. This role is pivotal in strengthening relationships with existing clients, cultivating new partnerships, and driving the implementation of Buro Happold’s regional growth strategy across short, mid, and long-term horizons. The Director will also oversee the successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction, while also supporting financial performance and business development efforts.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

• Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure continued satisfaction and collaboration.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to engage new clients and expand Buro Happold’s presence in the Western Region.
• Represent the firm at industry events, forums, and networking platforms to enhance visibility and influence.

Strategic Growth Implementation

• Drive the execution of the Western Region’s growth strategy, aligning initiatives with broader business objectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure strategic alignment and effective implementation across all time horizons.

Project Leadership & Delivery Oversight

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including those based outside the Middle East.
• Ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of technical excellence and client satisfaction.
• Serve as the primary client interface throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication and responsiveness.

Financial Oversight

• Monitor project financial performance and ensure alignment with budgetary targets.
• Work closely with the Portfolio Cost and Project Control Manager to optimize financial outcomes and resource allocation.

Business Development

• Identify and develop new business opportunities aligned with Buro Happold’s capabilities and strategic direction.
• Lead proposal development and contribute to winning new work and expanding service offerings in the region.

Your skills and experience

• Extensive experience in client-facing roles within the built environment and engineering consultancy sector.
• Proven leadership in managing cross-functional and geographically diverse teams.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
• Strategic mindset with a demonstrated ability to drive growth initiatives.
• Solid understanding of project financial management and performance metrics.
