6.13. Planning Engineer
1. Develop and manage preventive maintenance plans (PM schedules) for all
terminal assets including quay cranes, RTGs, reach stackers, terminal tractors,
reefer systems, power stations, and buildings.
2. Plan corrective maintenance tasks based on equipment breakdowns and
inspection reports.
3. Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize equipment
downtime.
4. Use the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to schedule
and track work orders.
5. Prepare detailed manpower, spare parts, and tool requirements for planned
activities.
6. Coordinate with the procurement and inventory departments to ensure timely
availability of spares and consumables.
7. 8. Monitor and control maintenance costs and resource utilization.
Maintain accurate equipment history, maintenance records, and technical
documentation.
9. Generate weekly/monthly performance reports on equipment reliability, MTTR,
MTBF, and maintenance KPIs.
10. Support budget preparation and long-term asset management planning.
11. Assist in planning and scheduling engineering
projects such as crane overhauls, terminal expansions, or power upgrades.
12. Monitor project progress, prepare progress reports, and ensure adherence to
timelines and quality standards.
13. Support contractor coordination and compliance with safety and quality
procedures.
14. Analyze equipment performance trends and identify opportunities for
optimization.
15. Implement condition-based monitoring (CBM) and predictive maintenance
initiatives.
16. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with HSE policies and terminal
standards.
17. Excellent understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of
terminal equipment.
18. Proficiency in CMMS software (e.g., Maximo, SAP PM, or Infor EAM).
19. Strong planning, scheduling, and reporting abilities.
20. Knowledge of maintenance KPIs, reliability engineering, and root cause
analysis.
21. Strong communication and coordination skills.
22. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
23. 3–7 years of experience in engineering planning or maintenance within a port,
terminal, or heavy industrial environment.
24. Proficiency in MS Project, Excel (Advanced), Power BI, and AutoCAD
preferred.
Work hours are 20/10, 8 hours a day.
Work hours are 22/8, 12 hours a day.
