EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position focuses on monitoring wildlands, responding to fire activity, and supporting fire management efforts throughout the Pinchot Forest District. As a Wildland Fire Responder, you will perform the following duties:
Wildfire Patrol: Survey assigned areas to detect fire activity and identify wildfire locations-
Fire Response: Engage in suppression efforts and apply fire management tactics during incidents

Crew Leadership: Guide employees and volunteers during wildfires and prescribed burns

Equipment Upkeep: Maintain vehicles, tools, and communication equipment for response readiness

Training Support: Assist in planning and delivering standard wildland fire trainings

Hazard Reduction: Support efforts to identify and reduce wildfire risks in the district

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Days and shifts may vary at times due to the seasonal nature of the position.

Overtime will be required as needed for fire operations.
