Job Summary:

The Wind Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of assigned wind energy projects (ranging from mid-scale to supporting large-scale projects), ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This role involves direct oversight of project planning, execution, monitoring, and control from initiation to closure, particularly focusing on the unique challenges of wind farm development and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

● Project Planning & Scheduling:

○ Develop comprehensive project plans for wind farms, including detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), critical path identification, and resource allocation.

○ Create and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), effectively tracking progress against baselines.

○ Plan and optimize resource utilization (manpower, specialized machinery, materials) for various project phases, including foundation works and turbine installation.

● Site Management & Execution Oversight:

○ Lead and supervise all on-site civil, mechanical, and electrical construction activities specific to wind farms, including turbine foundations, heavy haul roads, collection systems, and substations.

○ Manage and coordinate internal teams, specialized contractors (e.g., for turbine erection, logistics), sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless operations.

○ Oversee complex material logistics to site, including large component transport (blades, nacelles), ensuring timely delivery, proper storage, and inventory management.

○ Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve on-site issues and challenges unique to wind farm development in coordination with technical and engineering teams.

● Turbine Installation & Commissioning Support:

○ Coordinate closely with Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) suppliers and erection teams to ensure safe and efficient turbine installation.

○ Oversee and manage the commissioning activities for wind turbines and balance of plant (BOP) systems.

● Quality Assurance & Control:

○ Implement and enforce stringent quality control procedures across all project phases, including foundation pouring, civil works, and electrical installations.

○ Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure work is performed strictly according to design specifications, industry standards, and best practices.

● Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Management:

○ Develop, promote, and enforce strict adherence to company EHS policies and all statutory regulations on wind farm sites.

○ Conduct regular safety briefings, identify potential hazards specific to wind farm construction (e.g., working at heights, heavy lifts), and implement immediate corrective actions.

○ Ensure compliance with all environmental norms and local regulations relevant to wind farm development.

● Budget & Cost Control:

○ Manage project expenditures against approved budgets, actively seeking cost efficiencies without compromising quality or schedule.

○ Review and approve contractor billing and payment processes, ensuring accuracy and strict adherence to contractual terms.

○ Identify potential cost overruns, analyze root causes, and propose effective corrective measures.

● Stakeholder Coordination & Communication:

○ Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications with internal teams (Engineering, Procurement, Finance) and external stakeholders.

○ Effectively communicate project status, progress, risks, and challenges to management, clients, turbine manufacturers, and regulatory bodies.

○ Conduct regular project review meetings with all stakeholders.

● Documentation & Reporting:

○ Maintain comprehensive and accurate project documentation, including daily progress reports, site logs, meeting minutes, quality records, correspondence, and change orders.

○ Prepare and present detailed project completion reports, lessons learned, and handover documentation.

● Risk Management:

○ Proactively identify, assess, and quantify potential project risks (technical, commercial, operational, regulatory, and environmental).

○ Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans specific to wind projects.

REQUIRED:

● Basic understanding of wind turbine technology, civil works for wind farms, and grid connection processes.

● Aptitude for project management principles and field-based operations.

● Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

● Willingness to travel extensively and work in challenging site conditions.
