Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wood Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have background using either Beam Saws or Edge-Band production processes while adhering to safety standards.
Duties
- Operate either a beam saw or edge-bander as well as other timber production equipment, to produce products according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading, unloading, and organising raw materials and finished products within the warehouse environment.
- Perform routine inspections of machined parts for quality control, making adjustments as necessary to maintain tolerances.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with assembly tasks when required, ensuring components fit correctly within larger systems.
- Document machining processes and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience of beam saw, edgeband or press work, and materials handling within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Skilled in using hand tools, tooling, and various machining equipment.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and setting up machinery accurately.
- Knowledge of materials properties and handling procedures relevant to manufacturing processes.
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential; a proactive attitude towards organisation is required.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday 06.00am to 17.00
- Fridays 06.00am to 15.00
Pay: £13.00-£14.50 per hour

- Stoke-on-Trent ST6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
