Position Purpose:

We are looking to hire a highly skilled WordPress Backend Developer to build, enhance, and maintain scalable and secure WordPress websites for our clients. You will be responsible for server-side development, custom plugin and theme development, API integrations, database optimization, and ensuring high performance and security across all WordPress installations.

Requirements

Education and Professional Qualification:

• Bachelor or equivalent degree from a reputed educational Institute, preferably in computer programming, computer science, or a related field.
• Certification(s): Not mandatory, but certification in a relevant field is a plus.
  
  
  

Experience:

• Minimum 1.5 years of relevant experience as a WordPress Backend Developer.
  
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize custom WordPress plugins, themes, and backend functionalities to meet project requirements.
• Implement and manage custom post types, taxonomies, REST APIs, hooks, and filters to enhance WordPress capabilities.
• Ensure robust security practices, including sanitization, validation, access control, and protection against vulnerabilities such as XSS, CSRF, and SQL injection.
• Create and manage ACF field groups and backend structures to support dynamic and scalable site content.
• Integrate third-party APIs, external services, and custom data sources into WordPress applications.
• Optimize backend performance, database queries, and server configurations to achieve high Google PageSpeed and performance scores.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to implement backend logic that powers seamless user interfaces.
• Debug and resolve complex issues related to backend functionality, plugin conflicts, database errors, and integrations.
• Maintain, update, and enhance WordPress core, themes, and plugins while ensuring compatibility and performance.
• Structure clean, reusable, and scalable code following WordPress coding standards.
• Implement and manage caching systems, performance optimization, and database indexing to improve overall site efficiency.
• Ensure compatibility of backend systems across multiple hosting environments and server configurations
• Create detailed documentation for backend processes, APIs, custom functionalities, and ACU structures for internal teams and clients
• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as frontend, QA, content, and marketing to deliver high-quality technical solutions
• Stay updated with the latest backend development trends, WordPress improvements, and security advancements
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical solutions to support long-term website stability.
• Support scalable architecture and infrastructure strategies to accommodate growing traffic, data, and system complexity.
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Experience with ACF, custom post types, taxonomies, and backend configuration.
• Strong understanding of security best practices, data validation, and secure coding principles.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex backend issues efficiently.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Familiarity with server environments, hosting setups, and tools like cPanel, WHM, or CLI.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques such as caching, database tuning, and code optimization.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders.
• Flexibility to accommodate evolving project requirements and business needs.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
• Willingness to take on additional tasks to support overall business objectives. Ability to translate technical requirements into functional backend systems.
• Strong expertise in creating and managing custom WordPress plugins, themes, and server-side logic.
