WordPress Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated WordPress Developer with hands-on experience in plugin development and customization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing custom plugins, as well as extending existing WordPress functionalities to meet specific business needs. You will work closely with our design, content, and backend teams to build scalable and secure WordPress solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, customize, and maintain custom WordPress plugins.
• Modify and extend existing plugins to meet new requirements.
• Work with hooks, filters, shortcodes, and WordPress APIs.
• Collaborate with designers and backend developers to implement new features.
• Troubleshoot plugin conflicts and ensure performance and security compliance.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and reusable code.
• Optimize site speed, performance, and SEO best practices.
• Perform regular site updates, backups, and maintenance.
• Follow WordPress coding standards and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in WordPress development (minimum 2–3 years).
• Strong PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery skills.
• Hands-on experience with plugin development, customization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with WordPress REST API.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git preferred).
• Understanding of web security best practices.
• Experience in debugging tools (e.g., Query Monitor, Debug Bar).
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture and coding standards.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with WooCommerce plugin customization.
• Familiarity with Gutenberg block development.
• Knowledge of CI/CD workflows and deployment tools.
• Experience with performance optimization tools (e.g., caching, CDN).
• Familiarity with modern JS frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) is a plus.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
