KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Theme & Plugin Development

▸ Build, customize, and maintain WordPress themes from scratch and using page builders (Elementor, WPBakery).

▸ Develop custom plugins, shortcodes, and widgets to extend WordPress functionality.

▸ Work with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create flexible content structures.

▸ Implement and manage custom Taxonomy structures for organized content architecture.

▸ Configure and customize wp-config.php, functions.php, .htaccess, and the wp-content directory.

Website Development & Design

▸ Design and develop responsive, visually appealing WordPress websites.

▸ Create custom page templates, layouts, and reusable block patterns.

▸ Ensure mobile responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and adherence to UI/UX best practices.

▸ Integrate and configure WooCommerce and other key WordPress plugins.

Performance, SEO & Security

▸ Implement on-page SEO best practices including schema markup, meta optimization, and structured data.

▸ Optimize website speed and performance (caching, image optimization, Core Web Vitals).

▸ Manage website backups, security hardening, and routine updates.

▸ Apply security best practices to protect against common WordPress vulnerabilities.

Maintenance & Support

▸ Manage content updates, bug fixes, and ongoing website optimizations.

▸ Debug issues in themes, plugins, and core WordPress functionality.

▸ Provide support for basic tasks on Wix, Squarespace, and Shopify when required.

▸ Troubleshoot, test, and maintain websites efficiently across environments.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
Core Technologies

▸ Understanding of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).

▸ Solid understanding of WordPress core architecture, hooks (actions & filters), and the template hierarchy.

▸ Experience with MySQL databases — writing queries, managing tables, and optimizing database performance.

▸ Familiarity with REST API and headless WordPress concepts is a plus.

WordPress-Specific Knowledge

▸ Strong command of Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) including repeater, flexible content, and relationship fields.

▸ Experience with custom post types (CPT) and custom taxonomy structures.

▸ Proficiency in creating custom shortcodes and widget development.

▸ Knowledge of .htaccess rules, WP-Config optimization, and wp-content folder management.

▸ Hands-on experience with WooCommerce setup, customization, and troubleshooting.

Tools & Builders

▸ Strong experience with Elementor, WPBakery, or similar drag-and-drop page builders.

▸ Familiarity with Git for version control and collaborative development.

▸ Working knowledge of Wix, Webflow, and Shopify for cross-platform support tasks.

▸ Experience with local development environments (e.g., LocalWP, XAMPP, DevKinsta).

QUALIFICATIONS

▸ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

▸ Minimum 1 year of professional WordPress development experience.

▸ A strong portfolio demonstrating live WordPress projects (themes, plugins, or custom builds).

▸ Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

▸ A tech enthusiast with a genuine interest in the IT industry and emerging web technologies.

▸ Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and code quality.

▸ Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with designers and project managers.
