A significant portion of our work involves the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of live systems, including business-critical and compliance-sensitive environments.

Why We’re Hiring

As our portfolio of active client platforms grows, we’re hiring a WordPress & Shopify Developer to support the production, maintenance, and continuous improvement of client projects, portals, and websites. This role exists to ensure systems remain stable, secure, performant, and well-maintained, while steadily improving quality and reducing technical debt.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on execution role focused on maintaining and enhancing existing production systems, along with occasional new builds. It is not a junior trainee role, nor a senior architecture position. You’ll work within established systems, processes, and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Build WordPress websites from scratch, primarily using Gutenberg and native WordPress
• Maintain and improve existing WordPress and Shopify production sites
• Work across multiple page builders (Elementor, Bakery/Visual Composer, Bolt, etc.)
• Perform content updates, page builds, bug fixes, and layout refinements
• Ensure websites remain stable, updated, and performant
• Implement SEO best practices during development and updates
• Apply WordPress security best practices, particularly for data-sensitive and financial-services sites
• Troubleshoot issues on live production websites with care and discipline
• Collaborate with designers and project leads on assigned tasks

Core Technical Skills

• JavaScript (vanilla JS; jQuery familiarity is important)
• PHP (WordPress-focused development)
• MySQL (basic queries and understanding WordPress database structure)
• JSON (data exchange and API usage)

WordPress & E-commerce Stack

• Strong experience with WordPress core
• Ability to build lean, maintainable WordPress sites with minimal plugins
• Solid understanding of Gutenberg block-based development
• Experience with WordPress REST API
• Custom post types, taxonomies, hooks & filters
• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) or similar
• Hands-on experience maintaining Shopify stores
• Familiarity with WooCommerce fundamentals

Front-End & UI Fundamentals

• HTML5 and CSS3 (Flexbox, Grid, responsive layouts)
• Ability to make front-end refinements without relying entirely on a designer
• Basic awareness of accessibility and semantic HTML
• Experience with Bootstrap and Tailwind frameworks

SEO & Performance

• Practical understanding of on-page SEO
• Ability to structure pages and content for search engines
• Awareness of performance basics (page speed, image optimization, caching)
• Familiarity with Core Web Vitals concepts

Security & Compliance Awareness

• Familiarity with WordPress security best practices
• Awareness of security considerations for websites handling customer or transactional data
• Understanding of SSL, user roles, backups, and basic hardening
• Ability to follow compliance and security guidelines for financial services clients

Development Practices

• Basic proficiency with Git (pull, push, branching)
• Experience working with staging and production environments
• Careful and disciplined approach to deploying changes on live sites

• Familiarity with managed hosting, VPS environments, or CDNs
• Basic understanding of accessibility or regulatory requirements
