Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills and a comprehensive understanding of workers' compensation law, along with experience in various legal areas including personal injury, estate planning, and legal research. This role involves representing clients, managing case files, and providing expert legal advice within a dynamic law office environment. The position offers an opportunity to work on complex cases that require excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage and litigate workers' compensation cases from inception through resolution, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity.
- Negotiate settlements effectively to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Advise clients on workers' compensation claims as well as related areas such as personal injury law, family law, tribal law & regulations, and environmental law when applicable.
- Maintain detailed case files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the law office to develop case strategies and share insights on complex legal issues.
- Stay current on changes in workers' compensation law and other relevant legal fields through continuous research and professional development.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar in good standing.
- Proven experience in workers' compensation law; familiarity with personal injury law, litigation, and legal drafting is highly desirable.
- Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise legal documents.
- Experience with legal administrative tasks such as case management and document organization.
- Knowledge of estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law is a plus but not required.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a track record of successful settlements.
- Strong analytical abilities combined with effective communication skills to advocate for clients’ best interests. Pay: $81,864.95 - $98,590.05 per year
