Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney (Associate) to join our growing legal team. This role is ideal for someone with experience, or a strong interest, in defending employers, insurance carriers, and self-insured employers in workers' compensation claims. The successful candidate will manage a caseload, handle all aspects of the litigation process, and provide exceptional legal representation to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
· Caseload Management: Handle a caseload of workers' compensation defense matters from inception to resolution.
· Legal Research & Drafting: Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
· Client Representation: Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and mediations.
· Client & Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, adjusters, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
· Case Strategy Development: Develop case strategies and provide timely updates to clients.
· Court Appearances & Advocacy: Attend court appearances and advocate for clients in administrative hearings and trials.
· Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
· Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
· Licensing: Active bar license in California with good standing.
· Experience: 4+ years of workers' compensation experience.
· Skills: Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
· Communication: Excellent communication and client service abilities.
· Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
· Organizational Skills: Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
