Workshop Estimator - Fabrication & Machine Shop

We are looking for an estimator with extensive experience related to metal fabrication and machine shop works.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Extensive metal fabricating blueprint reading and the ability to interpret and analyze specifications and tolerances.
• Attention to detail.
• Communication skills to interact with Customers, Suppliers, and co-workers.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication processes & machine shop basic operations.

Job Role:

• Compute costs by identifying materials, purchased items, fabrication processes and time requirements.
• Work with Purchasing Department to solicit and collect material costs.
• Work with Engineering Department to identify optimal material utilization and fabrication methods.
• Work with Production Department to establish fabrication rates and options for fabrication methods.
• Maintain records and deadlines of RFQs.
• Solicit feedback from Production to improve estimating accuracy.
• Contribute to team effort by performing duties within the Estimating Department and other Departments, including Production, as needed.

Education:

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
