Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and update Bills of Quantities (BOQs), detailed cost estimates, and tender documentation specific to MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
- Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness in pricing and scope alignment.
- Implement and maintain cost tracking systems to monitor project expenditures against the approved budget.
- Identify and document all variations and change orders, ensuring accurate assessment and timely submission for approval.
- Evaluate and verify subcontractor payment claims, negotiate settlements, and assist with final account closures.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to ensure alignment between budget, design intent, and actual implementation.
- Participate in value engineering efforts by recommending economical alternatives that do not compromise performance or compliance.
- Ensure strict adherence to technical specifications, contractual obligations, and relevant codes or authority regulations.
- Prepare and submit interim payment applications and support project cash flow forecasting and budget reconciliation.
- Support pre-contract and post-contract activities including tender analysis, contract award recommendations, and risk assessments.
- Provide commercial updates and cost-related insights during project coordination and stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Certification from a recognized professional body (MRICS, RICS, AIQS, etc.) is an advantage.
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in MEP quantity surveying, preferably within high-rise towers or large-scale residential developments.
- Strong knowledge of MEP construction workflows, pricing mechanisms, and contractual procedures.
- Proficient in quantity surveying and estimating tools such as Candy, CostX, AutoCAD, and MS Excel.
- Well-versed in international contract standards, particularly FIDIC.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a sharp eye for detail.
- Capable of managing multiple deliverables under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
