Job Title: Workshop Engineer (Heavy Earth Moving Equipment's & Light Vehicles)

Location: Project / Workshop Site (KSA)

Reports To: Workshop / Maintenance Manager

Job Purpose:

To oversee, manage, and ensure effective maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy earthmoving equipment (excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, cranes, etc.) and light vehicles (cars, pickups, buses, etc.) to maximize availability, reliability, and performance of the fleet in line with company standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Workshop Operations & Maintenance

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of heavy equipment and light vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues and provide solutions.
  • Ensure repairs and overhauls are carried out efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor performance of equipment post-repair and ensure operational reliability.

2. Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise workshop technicians, mechanics, electricians, and helpers.
  • Allocate daily tasks, monitor work progress, and provide technical guidance.
  • Train and develop staff on troubleshooting, repair techniques, and safety practices.

3. Inventory & Spare Parts Management

  • Ensure availability of required spare parts, lubricants, and consumables.
  • Review and approve parts requisitions, liaise with procurement for timely supply.
  • Maintain records of spare parts consumption and cost control.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain maintenance logs, job cards, and service records.
  • Generate periodic reports on breakdowns, maintenance cost, and equipment performance.
  • Support management in budgeting for maintenance and repairs.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce workshop safety rules and ensure compliance with company and statutory HSE policies.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments before repair/maintenance jobs.
  • Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste and workshop cleanliness.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Recommend modifications to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Support in the evaluation of new equipment/vehicles for procurement.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in maintenance of heavy earthmoving equipment and light vehicles (preferably with construction / contracting companies).
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Experience in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of OEM standards (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Toyota, Nissan, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Aramco / NEOM / SABIC standards (for contracting projects) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ﷼6,000.00 - ﷼7,000.00 per month
