Job Title: Workshop Storekeeper (Garage)
Job Summary:
The Workshop Storekeeper is responsible for managing the inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment in the garage workshop. This role ensures the availability of necessary items for maintenance and repair work, maintains accurate records, and supervises the storage and issuance of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all garage parts, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct regular stock checks and physical inventory counts.
- Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage or deterioration.
- Procurement and Reordering:
- Monitor stock levels and initiate procurement processes for replenishment.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely procurement of spare parts and tools.
- Issuance and Documentation:
- Issue materials, tools, and parts to workshop staff as per requirements.
- Maintain proper records of all issued and received items.
- Storage and Organization:
- Organize and arrange stock in a systematic manner for easy access and safety.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained in the storage area.
- Record Keeping:
- Prepare reports on inventory status, stock movements, and requisitions.
- Maintain logs of all transactions for audit purposes.
- Coordination:
- Liaise with workshop supervisors and mechanics to understand their material requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement and finance teams for ordering and payments.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to safety regulations and standards in the storage and handling of materials.
- Report any safety hazards or issues to management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a garage or workshop environment.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills.
