We are seeking a skilled and experienced WPF Developer to join our team!

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled WPF Developer with a proven track record of building robust and visually engaging desktop applications. This role requires expertise in WPF development using .NET Core 5 or newer, with a focus on implementing the MVVM pattern, advanced UI customization, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will bring creativity and technical excellence to the design and implementation of our unique digital canvas application, enabling intuitive data visualization and interaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain a WPF-based desktop application using .NET Core 5 or newer.
  • Implement the MVVM pattern to ensure maintainable and testable code.
  • Create and manage styles, themes, and resource dictionaries to achieve a cohesive and dynamic UI.
  • Customize standard WPF controls using control templates, visual states, and attached behaviors.
  • Develop custom controls and implement advanced UI features such as drag-and-drop functionality, animations, and effects.
  • Build and optimize custom visualizations and 2D charting solutions using the WPF canvas layout.
  • Handle complex data-binding scenarios, including the use of converters, multibinding, and validation.
  • Leverage third-party frameworks like Telerik, DevExpress, or Infragistics to enhance user experience.
  • Optimize application performance, ensuring UI responsiveness during data-intensive operations.
  • Debug and resolve layout or rendering issues by understanding the visual and logical trees in WPF.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver innovative features.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in WPF development with .NET (preferably .NET Core 5 or newer).
  • Strong understanding of the MVVM pattern, including data binding, commanding, and validation.
  • Expertise in creating and managing styles, themes, and resource dictionaries.
  • Proven experience customizing standard WPF controls and developing custom controls or attached behaviors.
  • Proficiency in handling complex data-binding challenges, including the use of converters and multibinding.
  • Familiarity with WPF canvas layouts and custom rendering for visualizations or 2D charting.

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Experience with third-party frameworks like Telerik WPF, DevExpress, or Infragistics.
  • Knowledge of drag-and-drop functionality, animations, and effects in WPF.
  • Understanding of WPF’s visual tree, logical tree, and layout intricacies.
  • Experience with dependency properties, attached properties, and their use in custom controls.
  • Familiarity with ItemsControl, data templates, and control templates for UI composition.
  • Hands-on experience with asynchronous programming and managing UI responsiveness.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of localization techniques for WPF applications.
  • Familiarity with advanced frameworks like WCF, Web API, or GRPC for backend integration.
  • Experience with graph databases (Neo4j) or search technologies like Elasticsearch.
  • Understanding of IoC/DI frameworks such as Unity, MEF, or similar.
  • Exposure to Expression Blend for UI design and animations.

About the Project:

Our application centers around a digital canvas for associating and visualizing related data. The visual analogy is akin to crime investigation string boards seen in TV shows, but as an intuitive and interactive digital experience. This role will be pivotal in designing and implementing the user interface, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
