SUMMARY
:

Starburst Software Engineers build scalable, high-performance data infrastructure and user-facing features that power Starburst Galaxy and the Starburst Enterprise Platform (SEP). Engineers work closely with the creators to deliver cutting-edge solutions for data access, governance, and analytics across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs for Starburst's data platform.
  • Build features related to identify and access management. (IAM), data governance, and query optimization.
  • Collaborate with UX, product, and security teams to deliver intuitive and secure user experiences.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and platform reliability.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and cross-functional planning.
  • Support product systems and troubleshoot performance issues in distributed environments.

SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services and DevOps Practices.
  • Prior experience building distributed systems or working with cloud-native architectures.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization frameworks.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, containerization, and infrastructure automation.
  • Understanding of data platforms.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to professional growth and learning.
  • Adaptability and openness to new ideas.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ Years of experience
