Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented X-Ray Technician to join our medical team. The technician will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, operating X-ray equipment, ensuring patient safety, and producing high-quality images for accurate medical evaluation. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise, good communication skills, and a patient-centric approach.
Key ResponsibilitiesRadiographic Procedures
- Perform X-ray imaging as per physician instructions and diagnostic protocols.
- Position patients correctly to obtain accurate and clear radiographic images.
- Operate and maintain X-ray machines, digital radiography systems, and related equipment.
- Ensure radiation protection measures for patients, staff, and self.
Patient Care
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort.
- Verify patient identity and medical history before conducting X-rays.
- Assist patients with limited mobility, including safe transfer to and from the X-ray table.
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond to any distress or emergencies.
Image Quality & Documentation
- Ensure images are of high diagnostic quality and meet radiologist requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and image files in the PACS/RIS system.
- Follow departmental protocols for film labeling and digital data accuracy.
Equipment & Safety Management
- Perform regular equipment checks and report malfunctions immediately.
- Follow strict radiation safety guidelines and infection control practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of X-ray rooms and ensure readiness for procedures.
Administrative Support
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and radiologists for patient imaging needs.
- Assist in scheduling imaging procedures when required.
- Manage stock of consumables needed for radiology procedures.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience
- Diploma in Radiology Technology (DRT) / B.Sc. in Radiology or equivalent.
- Valid certification from an authorized radiology council (as per local regulations).
- 2–3 years of experience in diagnostic radiography preferred.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Excellent patient-handling and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with PACS, CR/DR systems, and radiation safety guidelines.
Work Environment
- Full-time role with rotating shifts.
- May require weekend, night shifts, and on-call duty depending on hospital needs.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹15,086.00 - ₹35,089.33 per month
