Young Toddler Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Young Toddler Teacher to inspire and nurture children during their crucial early developmental years. As a teacher in our childcare facility, you will play a vital role in supporting the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This position involves working with young children to foster their emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development. As a teacher in the classroom you will help implement the curriculum, assist with daily classroom activities, and maintain a positive and welcoming environment for both children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classroom Support:
• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily activities and lesson plans that align with developmental milestones.
• Help supervise and engage children in both structured and free play activities.
• Support children’s emotional and social development by encouraging positive behaviors and resolving conflicts.
• Always ensure the safety and well-being of children.
• Assist in preparing materials for lessons and activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support for children who need additional help or attention.
• Child Observation and Assessment:
• Assist in documenting children's activities, behaviors, and milestones in daily reports or progress notes.
• Communication and Collaboration:
• Maintain open and positive communication with parents regarding their child's development, activities, and any concerns.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and parents to create a harmonious and effective learning environment.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss curriculum planning, child development, and facility updates.
• Health and Safety:
• Help enforce health and safety protocols, including proper hygiene, mealtimes, nap times, and safety drills.
• Assist with meal and snack time, ensuring children are eating healthy and following any dietary restrictions.
• Support in keeping the classroom clean, organized, and prepared for daily activities.
• Professional Development:
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities as required by state licensing regulations and facility policies.
• Stay informed of current best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field preferred
• At least 1 - 2 years of experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting (preferred).
• Understanding of child development principles and early childhood education.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and parents.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
• Patient, caring, and compassionate attitude.
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift to 40 pounds to assist with children’s needs.
• Ability to kneel, squat, or sit on the floor to engage with children at their level.

Compensation:
