Position Summary:
YES is seeking a compassionate and experienced Youth and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. The psychiatrist will provide diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and clinical consultation for children, adolescents, and young adults participating in outpatient mental health services. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for youth and adolescents.
- Provide medication management, monitor treatment effectiveness, and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Collaborate closely with therapists, case managers, nurses, and family members to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
- Offer psychiatric consultation to clinical and program staff as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with OMH and agency standards.
- Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and quality improvement activities.
- Provide education and support to youth and families about diagnosis, treatment, and wellness strategies.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO with specialization in Psychiatry.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Current New York State medical license (or eligibility).
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in outpatient, school, or community settings preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and cultural competency skills.
- Bilingual English / Spanish a plus.
