Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Youth Development Professional to join our IG Homes Branch team. In this vital role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children and adolescents, fostering their growth through structured activities and personalized support. Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and emotional well-being
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment
- Provide first aid and basic healthcare support when necessary, ensuring safety at all times
- Lead sports coaching sessions, arts and crafts, theater performances, and other recreational programs to foster creativity and teamwork
- Maintain detailed records of attendance, progress notes, incident reports, and program evaluations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain discipline in a caring manner
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
- Experience in working with children across diverse settings such as daycare, camp, or tutoring programs
- Familiarity with child safety protocols including first aid certification
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively
- Experience in special education or working with children with special needs is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
<Requirements>
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- Must maintain or obtain a CPR and 1st Aid certification within 90 days of employment
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to engage children actively and collaborate with families and team members.
