Youth Mentor/Case Manager (part-time up to 29 hours/week)

Help our region’s youth reach their full promise and potential! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County is seeking an empathetic, self-directed, and organized Options Program Case Manager to join their team! This direct service position will work with male youth throughout Bucks County ages 7-18.

Our Options Case Managers make a difference through:

  • Weekly or biweekly mentoring meetings with youth referred by Bucks County Children and Youth, Youth Aid Panels, or Juvenile Probation.
  • Introducing youth to new prosocial community activities.
  • Engaging youth in rewarding service projects to give back to their community and fulfill service hour requirements.
  • Reducing youth recidivism by improving their decision making skills and peer relationships through cognitive exercises, apology letters, and connection to ongoing community resources.

Our ideal candidates have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology or similar educational backgrounds
  • Understanding of our role as Mandated Reporters
  • Understanding of casework practices, individual and group work skills, family dynamics, and child development
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills with ability to network and build relationships
  • Ability to maintain detailed case notes and youth progress reports
  • Experience with Motivational Interviewing and behavioral contracting or willingness to learn
  • Ability to travel 60-70% of the time throughout Bucks County
  • Availability to work flexible hours to meet customer needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; including Word, Outlook, and Excel
