Candidate will be in charge of the Youth Services department and will be responsible for Youth Services programming, including two story times per week, family arts & crafts monthly program, middle grade readers club monthly program, teen programming, STEAM Friday programming, summer reading programming, school vacation week programming, Youth Services displays, Youth Services collection management, Youth Services collection development, and outreach with SAU4 school system.
Candidate will be expected to fill in at the circulation desk when needed, and to work one Tuesday evening shift, and one Saturday shift each month, in rotation with other staff. Experience with KOHA preferred. Experience with LIBBY and NHAIS preferred. Experience with Google Docs, Excel, Word and CANVA necessary. Experience with the Dewey Decimal System necessary.
Candidate will be expected to serve as a professional library resource by recommending children’s library materials in all formats to library patrons and community groups; and to know and understand trends in reading and publishing.
This is a 30 hour per week position. The pay 22.80 /hour. This position is open until filled. Review of candidates will begin immediately.
Required experience: Minimum of three years of library experience in Youth services department.
Required education: MLIS preferred. Bachelor’s degree in education or library science required. Alternatively considered, a minimum of two years experience in education, with a bachelor's degree in related field.
Pay: $22.80 per hour
