Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Video Editor to edit recorded educational content and online lectures for digital platforms. The ideal candidate should be capable of transforming raw lecture recordings into clear, engaging, and well-structured videos suitable for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp channels while maintaining academic accuracy and professional quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Video Editing & Post-Production

• Edit long-form educational lectures for YouTube.
• Create short clips, highlights, reels, and shorts from long lectures for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
• Remove unnecessary pauses, mistakes, repetitions, background noise, and distractions.
• Ensure smooth cuts, transitions, and continuity throughout the video.
• Sync audio properly with video and improve overall sound quality.

2. Educational Enhancements

• Add on-screen text, titles, headings, bullet points, keywords, and definitions to enhance learning.
• Insert timestamps, chapters, and labels for better navigation (especially for YouTube).
• Highlight important points, formulas, diagrams, or slides during lectures.
• Maintain accuracy of educational content while editing (no distortion of meaning).

3. Graphics & Visual Elements

• Add lower thirds, name tags, topic titles, and branding elements.
• Insert images, diagrams, charts, screenshots, or screen recordings when required.
• Apply basic animations to make content visually engaging without distracting from learning.
• Maintain consistent branding (logo, colors, fonts) across all videos.

4. Platform Optimization

• Export videos in appropriate formats and aspect ratios:

i. YouTube

ii. Instagram Reels / Shorts

iii. Facebook

iv. WhatsApp (compressed, mobile-friendly)

• Optimize video length, resolution, and file size for each platform.
• Add intro/outro, subscribe reminders, and call-to-action where required.

Audio & Visual Quality

• Improve audio clarity (noise reduction, equalization, volume balancing).
• Basic color correction and brightness/contrast adjustment.
• Ensure clear visibility of whiteboards, slides, or screen-shared material.

Collaboration & Workflow

• Work closely with instructors or content creators to understand lecture goals.
• Follow editing guidelines, deadlines, and revision feedback.
• Organize and manage raw footage and edited files properly.
• Maintain confidentiality of recorded lectures and educational material.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Video Editor, preferably in educational or lecture-based content.
• Proficiency in editing software such as:

i. Adobe Premiere Pro

ii. Final Cut Pro

• Strong understanding of educational video structure and learner engagement.
• Ability to create both long-form and short-form content.
• Basic knowledge of motion graphics, subtitles, and captions.
• Good sense of pacing, clarity, and visual balance.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Experience editing online courses, webinars, or academic content.
• Knowledge of YouTube SEO basics (thumbnails, watch-time optimization).
• Ability to create or assist with thumbnails.
• Familiarity with captioning/subtitling (English/Urdu is a plus).
• Experience working with educators, institutes, or EdTech platforms.
