About the Project

About the client:

Our client is a global leader in AI-powered, video-first platforms, used by enterprises, media companies, and educational institutions worldwide.

About the role:

As a DevOps Engineer in the Platform team, you will deploy video infrastructure and applications to meet the business goals of some of the largest and most sophisticated clients. You will be responsible for deploying, tuning, and maintaining large-scale video management and video delivery solutions. You will often act as a trusted advisor to clients’ business stakeholders and have a tangible impact on their business operations and overall success.

Company's Technical Stack consists of:

K8s, GitOps, AWS, Helm, Terraform, ArgoCD, Ansible, Jenkins, Node, Prometheus/Thanos, Go, Linux, Redis, MongoDB and any other buzzwords you could think of :)

Required skills:

• Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible
• A strong familiarity with Kubernetes and related deployment and management suites (e.g. Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD)
• Strong expertise in Linux system administration (shell scripting and cli)
• Experience working with data layer, maintaining, administering, upgrading and supporting (MySQL, Elasticsearch, Sphinxsearch)
• Experience working and maintaining Caching layers (Memcached, Redis etc)
• Experience working within on-prem and on-demand cloud platforms, such as AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
• Experience deploying and managing medium to large scale web application stacks: LAMP, load balancers (Haproxy, nginx, traefik), Searching engines (Elastic and Sphinxsearcg), caching layers (such as Memcached, Redis etc)
• Experience working on SaaS companies (mid and large sizes) with multiple environments

These would also be nice:

• Experience managing multi-tenant environments and the process considerations that go along with it
• Good understanding of common web-facing programming languages and frameworks (PHP, NodeJS, Python)
• Experience and familiarity with Linux binaries compilation (gcc, make, and creation of Makefiles)

Scope of work:

• Deploy, manage, tune, and maintain our robust video platforms, applications, and infrastructure using latest the technologies such as K8s, cloud native applications and IaC
• Participate in planning and design to define the product offerings
• Work closely with other DevOps team members to improve deployment tools and processes
• Collaborate with members of our R&D and core platform teams to improve client's platform based on real-world use cases
• Work within an agile project framework
• Troubleshooting real production scale issues in live
• Good response and communication handling under pressure
• Being responsible and accountable for production changes
