Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily production activities in the fabrication workshop.
- Review fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and production schedules before commencing work.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, and Project teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity.
- Monitor fabrication processes including cutting, drilling, welding, fitting, assembly, and finishing.
- Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
- Verify material availability and coordinate with stores and procurement to prevent production delays.
- Monitor production progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable fabrication standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and timely resolution of quality issues.
- Support workshop supervisors and provide technical guidance during fabrication.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with company HSE policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize production costs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in structural steel fabrication, fabric shade structures, or heavy steel manufacturing.
- Experience in workshop production planning and fabrication processes.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and production processes.
- Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and GA drawings.
- Knowledge of welding, cutting, fitting, assembly, and surface treatment processes.
- Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOM), Material Take-Offs (MTO), and production planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
